Final Thoughts

Reflection:

This semester has, in its entirety, has reformed my writing process. I have become reliant on conferencing with my partner. Conversing with another person allowed me to see how my ideas were conveyed to other people. After conversing with my partner I began editing my work; making changes we discussed together. Prior to the class I did not see the value in making multiple drafts of one project.  Yet, throughout this semester I have seen my projects morph into pieces I can proudly display.

Future Projects:

During the creation of this e-Portfolio I have worked in several different forms of Technical Writing, yet the form I took most interest in was the Position description.  Its basis in my current career made Technical Writing a valuable resource of knowledge.  In the near future I will be revising and editing several position descriptions for Caring Hands Home Care.  Some of these positions will include Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Office Administrator. Because I am not as knowledgeable in the duties of each of these positions, editing the position descriptions may be difficult. I am apprehensive to create contracts for positions I have not held or observe regularly. While revising these position descriptions I will be asking myself several question including:

What is the scope of practice according to NYS?

Do the duties of this position overlap those of another?

Can I consult those currently in that position?
